Practical Priorities
I'm a fan of real food recipes, nontoxic cleaning products, chemical-free living, faith, chronic illness recovery strategies, and practical life hacks about everything. I love to write, camp, travel, read, and am a certified Scrabble word nerd.
New Book On the Way
Practical Priorities for Fibromyalgia Recovery is almost finished.
My husband, Vic, and I are writing a book about how I recovered from a chronic illness that has no known cure. How did that happen? Vic's a retired family doctor and medical educator who brought a physician's perspective to my personal research project. Me? I was too stubborn to let the whole incurable thing keep me from finding a way to move toward a healthier life.

Fibromyalgia Recovery Strategy of the Month
Processed food manufactured in industrial plants is full of harmful chemicals that are toxic to our health and well-being. They often contain preservatives, artificial colors, and a long list of difficult to pronounce chemical ingredients that our bodies are not designed to absorb and use.
Eating real food full of antioxidants to boost the immune system and anti-inflammatory nutrients to reduce inflammation and pain, is a key strategy for improving fibromyalgia symptoms. Almonds, cherries, honey, limes, and sweet potatoes are five of my favorite foods for reducing inflammation and the pain it causes. My top five fave foods with antioxidants to boost the immune system are broccoli, oranges, tea, walnuts, and apples.
